Our 2024 Farm & Forest adventure camp for kids ages 5-12 is gearing up for the summer!

Join our family as we lift carrots from the warm soil for our morning snack, chase down an errant chicken, go for child-led nature walks, and explore the pasture and hunt for animal tracks.  We’ll learn to sow seeds and reap the harvest, identify plants, trees and rocks, study the weather, and follow the brook to see where it goes.  We will tend to the chickens and teach a calf or two to lead.  We have lots of activities planned for those rainy days, too, like nature based arts and crafts, making forts in the hay barn, and old-fashioned summer camp games.

Our farm is a mile from Lake Mattawa, and we will take afternoons every week to cool off in the water.  Other nearby destinations include the Kiwanis Bicentennial Park, and the Swift River Historical Society for a guided tour.  We also have expert presenters lined up each week to educate and inspire on various nature-themed topics.

We have four adventure-filled two-week sessions planned this year:

Session 1: June 24-July 5

Session 2: July 8-19

Session 3: July 22-August 2

Session 4: August 12-23

A Typical Camp Day:

7-9AM:  Early drop-offs and breakfast

9-10:30AM: Nature walk

10:30: Snacks from the garden!

10:30-12:00PM: Arts and Crafts (tie-dye, paper making, plaster wildlife prints, and terrarium building are only a few projects we have planned!)

12-1: Lunch and Free play in the Pine Nook Playground

1-3: Farm Discoveries/swimming (T/Th, weather permitting)

3-5: Extended Day (supervised, lightly structured free play)

One of the best things about being on a farm is that no two days are the same and sometimes the best things happen that can’t be planned!

The cost is $400/session for morning only (9am-12pm) or $700/session for our full day program (9am-3pm).

Additionally, we are able to accommodate families needing early drop off/extended day.  The rate is $5/hour, per child.

A nonrefundable deposit (due at enrollment) of $50 secures your child’s place at summer camp, with the balance due two weeks before the start of the session.  Our prices reflect our low counselor to camper ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 in an effort to bring each child an exceptionally wonderful and safe summer experience.  Please reach out to us if the price of summer camp is beyond what your family can afford.

Cancellation Policy:

A full refund will be given (minus $50 deposit) two weeks before the start date of the session.  After this time, no refunds will be given for any reason except a serious medical emergency barring a camper’s participation at camp.  If the camp session must be cancelled, a full refund including the $50 deposit will be issued.

If you are an individual or business able to contribute in any amount, you can make a difference to a kid this summer!  Sponsors of $350 will receive a certificate of appreciation and acknowledgement on our promotional material.

We strive to make summer camp as accessible, safe, and inclusive as possible. Due to the outdoor and exploratory nature of our camp program, campers must be able to move about on uneven terrain. Campers are expected to meaningfully participate in age-appropriate activities. If your camper has social, emotional, physical, cognitive, or behavioral challenges, or if you have questions or concerns about how we can best support your camper, please contact our Camp Director to determine whether your camper can be accommodated at camp.  Read our healthcare policy, available here.

This camp must comply with Department of Public Health regulations and be licensed by the Orange Board of Health.
